I'm a 28-year old female, who is just starting her PhD in Molecular Anthropology at the University of Toronto.
My primary research interest is genetics and its applications to the field of anthropology. I did my undergraduate degree in Biological Anthropology and Genetics, and I'm hoping to continue in this direction during graduate school.
I'm an avid coffee and tea drinker. My idea of the 'perfect' evening involves vegging on the couch with a good book, a heavy blanket, and a cup of peppermint tea.
I'm madly obsessed with French history. In particular, I love reading about the French Revolution and the rise/fall of Catharism in the South of France. I also adore archaeology, and was lucky enough to work at a Cathar site in France, and an Amerindian site in Quebec.
When I'm not at school, I engage in an extreme form theater geekery. I'll watch everything from Broadway musicals and plays to foreign theater. My favorite shows are Elisabeth, Chess, Rebecca, Side Show and Bare. I also have a soft spot for Altar Boyz.
Travelling is my number one hobby. Each summer, I head to a different country or province to work or live. My favorite place was definitely Auzat, France. Staying in a town with 600 people and one bar (with no other stores in sight) was a blast.
